Jala Deepam is a traditional Hindu ritual performed in South India. It involves offering lighted lamps to the gods or goddesses.
- Jala Deepam is usually performed in the early evening during Diwali or other festivals, as a way to honor the gods and ask for their blessings.
- During the ritual, several wicks are placed in small clay pots filled with oil or ghee, and then the pots are lit.
- The worshipper then circles the lamps three times while chanting mantras. Once the ritual is complete, the lamps are kept burning throughout the night.
